Haolonggood Tarbosaurus Dinosaur Figure
The Apex Predator of Late Cretaceous Asia
About Tarbosaurus
Tarbosaurus bataar was one of the largest predators to roam prehistoric Asia during the Late Cretaceous, approximately 70 million years ago. Closely related to the famous Tyrannosaurus rex, this formidable theropod inhabited what is now Mongolia, where it dominated the ancient ecosystems of the Nemegt Formation.
Reaching approximately 10 to 12 metres (33 to 39 feet) in length, Tarbosaurus possessed a massive skull, powerful jaws, and relatively small two-fingered arms. Although similar to T. rex, its skull was generally narrower, with anatomical differences that distinguish the two tyrannosaurids.
As the dominant predator of its environment, Tarbosaurus likely hunted large herbivorous dinosaurs, including hadrosaurs such as Saurolophus and sauropods such as Nemegtosaurus. Its discovery has provided valuable insight into the evolution and diversity of tyrannosaurids across the Northern Hemisphere.
The Figure
Haolonggood brings this iconic Asian predator to life with a detailed reconstruction that captures the immense power and distinctive anatomy of Tarbosaurus.
The figure features a muscular body, powerful hind limbs, and a large, elongated skull with an open mouth displaying rows of sharp teeth. The dynamic posture gives the animal an imposing presence while maintaining a natural sense of balance and movement.
Fine scales and carefully sculpted skin textures cover the body, with particular attention to the head, neck, and muscular legs. The anatomical details and realistic proportions make this a compelling representation of one of the most formidable predators of the Late Cretaceous.
Paint Application
The Haolonggood Tarbosaurus is available in two distinctive colour variants, each offering a different interpretation of this prehistoric predator.
Brown Variant : Features warm earthy browns, a lighter underside, and dark irregular markings across the head, back, and flanks. The subdued palette creates a naturalistic appearance that emphasizes the sculpted skin texture.
Olive Green Variant : Combines olive and golden tones with bold dark markings and a pale underside. The stronger contrast gives this version a distinctive appearance while retaining a realistic, wildlife-inspired finish.
Both variants feature carefully painted teeth, mouths, and facial details that bring additional realism to the sculpt.
Collector POVFor collectors of large theropods, Tarbosaurus is an essential addition to any Late Cretaceous display. Its close evolutionary relationship with Tyrannosaurus rex makes the two particularly interesting to display together, highlighting the similarities and differences between these enormous tyrannosaurids. The two colour variants also offer collectors an opportunity to choose between a more subdued, earthy appearance and a bolder, contrasting palette. Whether displayed individually or alongside other Asian dinosaurs, the Haolonggood Tarbosaurus delivers an impressive combination of sculptural detail, anatomical realism, and shelf presence.
