Ankylosaurs

Ankylosaurs were heavily armored herbivorous dinosaurs covered in bony plates called osteoderms. Many species also had large tail clubs that were likely used for defense against predators.

These low, wide dinosaurs were built like living tanks and relied on their armor rather than speed for protection. Ankylosaurs lived mainly during the Cretaceous period and shared their environment with large theropod predators.
