About Nasutoceratops

Nasutoceratops lived approximately 76 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous period in what is now Utah, USA.

Unlike many of its ceratopsian relatives that evolved elaborate frills covered in long spikes, Nasutoceratops stood out for its distinctive facial anatomy. Its most recognizable feature was a pair of exceptionally long, forward-curving brow horns, paired with a relatively short, rounded frill. Its name, meaning "large-nosed horned face," comes from its unusually enlarged nasal region.

Measuring around 5 metres (16 feet) in length, Nasutoceratops was one of the smaller ceratopsians, but it likely relied on its impressive horns for display, competition, and defense against predators.

One fascinating aspect of Nasutoceratops is that its horn shape has often been compared to that of modern cattle and bison, making it one of the most distinctive horned dinosaurs ever discovered.
